ABC Pizza, back on the air.
A logo from an old pizza box gets thirty seconds in the spotlight: bold letters, a sweeping smile, pizza pies, grinders, Greek salads, and an original little synth tune.

The finished spot
Thirty seconds of pizza-box nostalgia.

The making of it
01 / 03The box already knew what it wanted to be.
The starting point was a photo of an ABC Pizza box. Its red mark has enormous, rounded ABC letters, a small PIZZA tucked beneath them, and a curved stroke that reads like a smile. The first impulse might have been to modernize it. Christopher’s direction was simpler: “I think the logo is 80s enough the way it is.”
So the cleaned mark keeps the original visual idea. The animation lets the letters do more of the work: they enter, pulse, and come back for the final sign-off. The frame stays warm and bright, like printed paper under studio lights.
From logo loop to little commercial.
The request grew from an animated logo to a complete thirty-second spot. Six scenes make room for the entrance, the food, and the closing mark. The pizza pies, hot oven grinders, and Greek salads come straight from the box copy. The illustrations are newly made for this experiment; the sound is an original Web Audio score generated by the browser.
The player is JavaScript rather than a flattened video. You can replay, scrub through the timing, switch between the full commercial and a fifteen-second logo ident, or turn off the sound.
One old mark, one new broadcast.
This is a creative homage to the photographed packaging, not a current offer or business announcement. The phone number and address on the old box are part of the source artifact, not a call to order. The commercial lives here with the blog, so its player and assets do not depend on a temporary preview link.
